Well - I was going to upload a post from a few weeks ago that I found I had never gotten around to posting - but being so new to Blogger didn't realise you can't cut and paste. Therefore am going to have to start a complete new post.
The boys are off to Football tomorrow (Australian Rules Football) and I really need to get off to spotlight to look for a pressie for a friend (and for a little wool shopping). Am really enjoying crochet and have moved from button flowers (Thanks to Lucy @ Attic24 http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/teeny-tiny-flowers.html) to trying out some amigurumi animals and a freeform bag (just messing around). Here are my button flowers!
I have always been a crafter - sewing, country crafts and cross stitch when I was younger, and more recently jewellery making and scrapbooking/card making. However Crochet gives me that instant gratification of being able to either finish a project, or taking my time. Having three or four WIP's on the go and not having to get bucketloads of "bits" out to do. I can hook wherever and whenever I want.
My three week old hobby has become a bit of a passion for yarn and wool - finding today the lovely art of felt needling (sigh - one day!). So my trip to spotlight will be a bit of an education - I've never really given wool the time of day, and so far all my projects have been with Acrylic (not that there is anything wrong with that!) so I am looking forward to getting my fingers wrapped around some cashmere or merino or other lovely textures.
Hope you have a great day and hopefully I will be back!
